Hello

Having spent my childhood and teen years sketching on any paper in front of me, it felt as if art was simply in my blood. Growing up around regional NSW spending time on the rivers around Condobolin, Gilgandra and Trangie forged my admiration for how beautiful nature can be. We were given a deep sense of belonging on country by our father, who tried his best to teach three young girls how to appreciate the land. My trusty sketch book would sit with me in front of the fire, and down by our fishing rods as I learnt to sketch what I saw.

Having moved to Tropical Queensland as an adult and traveling extensively throughout the northern rivers and Byron Bay I grew a deeper appreciation for the ocean, and the amazing unique art style that comes from the area. It taught me to step out of the box and explore my own individual art style.

Maliyan Creative has a heavy focus on Aboriginal Art, being that I'm a Kamilaroi & Wiradjuri woman and artist. I work with multiple Aboriginal Corporations and with youths creating artwork. 

Telling a story is a beautiful journey, and to be able to bring that journey to life in an art piece is my passion. 

If I can make someone's day a little brighter with one of my products, then that's a win in my book.
